This week, Madrid will become the capital of broadcast technology when the European roadshows of four industry giants coincide: Avid, EVS, Snell and Harmonic-Omneon. A unique opportunity to learn about the latest proposals in areas such as storage, media management, post-production, broadcast, multiplatform distribution or automation, among others.

The latest from Avid, on June 14 in Madrid

Avid will bring to its clients the latest developments shown at the recent NAB fair in Las Vegas. In a unique event in Spain, and in the incomparable setting of the Kinépolis room, the most advanced technology in audio and video post-production solutions for independent clients and large facilities will be shown.

Among other solutions, we will see Pro Tools 9 HD Native for imaging and the revolutionary features of Media Composer 5.5 and ISIS 5000.

In a world tour setting, international product specialists, trainers and local division managers will showcase the latest news and answer any questions about Avid systems.

It will be a free event that will include presentations, professional audio and video training master classes and a surprising final event.

Snell will present its new mixers and matrices in Madrid

Next June 14 and 15, Snell will organize two days in the Image City of Madrid to present some of its latest developments, among which the new Kahuna 360 mixers and the Sirius 800 matrices stand out.

The Kahuna 360 platform facilitates automation, networking and control tasks, thus giving operators more time to focus on the creative aspect of production. New Source Safe technology allows any Kahuna 360 input to connect to third-party devices, integrating it into production operations.

Junto a la Galaxy Event List Galaxy, ambas tecnologías permiten aumentar la flexibilidad mediante la automatización de tareas rutinarias pero críticas dentro del flujo de trabajo de producción y emisión. La eliminación de la necesidad de configurar manualmente los procesos de conversión del formato y la reducción del tiempo necesario para configurar y activar eventos, aumentan el tiempo que los operadores del mezclador puede dedicarse a varios aspectos de la producción artística en vivo.

Among other advantages, Kahuna 360 automatically detects an input signal and establishes the correct treatment without the need for intervention from the operator or engineering staff. With this capability, the system can detect the format of the signal source ensuring it is seamlessly included in the workflow with complete security.

Sirius 800

Also new is the Sirius 830, the newest member of the Sirius 800 family of large-scale, multi-format and expandable matrices. At 16RU, the new Sirius 830 offers 288 x 288 in a compact system ideal for small and medium-sized studios or mobile units, with the ability to provide a complement of 144 independent controllable outputs for connection to Snell's MV Series or another third-party multi-display solution. The new router can be seen at Snell's booth 8.B60 at IBC2010.

Like all routers in the Sirius 800 family, the Sirius 830 offers high-performance modular cross-point features for flexible routing of SD, HD, ASI, 3Gbps and embedded audio signals. Optional redundant crosspoints use intelligent path monitoring to automatically switch to the redundant path and issue a user alarm across the entire Snell Centra control system and monitoring application.
