Filmotion presents in New York its latest developments in HTML5
Filmotion maintains in the Open Video Conference (OVC) in New York its support for the movement for open source video, and helps reach the future of the video in HTML5, along with other committed companies, such as Mozilla, Google and Zencoder.
Flumotion, leader in online video technology, the Open Video Conference (OVC) held a few days ago in New York has broadcast. The online video and radio Platform of Filmotion, is a solution in the market that supports the online transmission of live video and on demand for multiple devices. In total there were six interventions throughout the conference, which were transmitted in open formats, as well as Flash, Windows Media and Silverlight. For the first time the prestigious event has been available on mobile devices, such as iPhone and iPad. All flows have been visualized on the Filmotion website and the Open Video Conference (OVC), with the opportunity to participate in the debates using the hashtag #OVC11 and #Webmlive.
The Open Video Conference, organized by the Open Video Alliance, is a three -day summit where they meet leaders of the video and the open web. In the program, there is a wide variety of projects and discussions, which are divided into four general themes: technology, politics, open and creative media developers.
HTML5 and the open source video
As an impeller asset, and because of its early adoption of open technologies, the new Filmotion platform now allows the creation of HTML5 players that in turn, makes it possible to reproduce the content in the open source, webm and OGG formats. "The annual Open Video Conference event is the perfect occasion to exhibit our new developments with HTML5, as well as reaffirm our continuous support of open technologies," explains Thomas Vander Stichele, co -founder and director of Technology of Flemotion. "We are honored to be among prestigious open source drivers, such as Mozilla and Google."
The powerful SAAS publication platform (AS SERVICE software) allows customers to add the HTML5 to their online video strategy and benefit from their growing advantages. Because HTML5 reduces complexity for developers, this language update on the web will experience rapid adoption and greater innovation. The success of this technology has also been reinforced by Apple's decision to support only the HTML5 video on its iPhone and iPad mobile devices. Another advantage is that the native video of the browser can be complemented with other browser languages, such as JavaScript. This allows the creation of interactive visualization experiences, which until now could only have been implemented by external plug -ins such as flash.
Mozilla, Google y Flumotion
Other collaborating companies of the conference include Google, with its webm open source project; and the Mozilla Foundation, with its new HTML5 video frame called Popcorn.js. This new frame allows videos, audio and other multimedia resources, control elements of a web page. Combining their files with a mixture of standard HTML and JavaScript, the authors can make their multimedia contents the conductors of an interactive and immersive experience.
