Motive Television lanza Video2Go

Motive Television has launched this week Video2Go, a solution aimed at offering broadcasters and pay-TV platforms new opportunities to extend their content beyond the television to other devices such as iPad.

Video2Go provides a cloud environment to consumers within their homes, and can operate as a stand-alone solution or integrated into Motive Television Anytime Anywhere's existing technology platform.

Among other advantages, it offers viewers the possibility of watching the broadcaster's or pay-TV platform's programming on their iPads without needing an Internet connection.

With Video2Go, viewers can interact with social networks, enriching their experience and accessing content and comments from other users.

Leonard M. Fertig, CEO of Motive, commented that “Video2Go is a natural extension of the innovative Television Anytime Anywhere software that makes it possible for broadcasters and pa-tv platforms to offer their users new services, generating new revenue, while using their existing distribution infrastructures.”

Tony Combe, CTO and vice president of engineering at Motive Television, describes this product as “the combination of the social TV application with the ability to stream/record the video to watch whenever and wherever they want.” The system records the contents when the device, such as the iPad, has an Internet connection, thus making it available to the user at any time whether they have a connection or not.

Video2Go is currently in testing in the United States with broadcaster KOFY in the San Francisco Bay area.
