Following the purchase of the Brazilian manufacturer Poliron, Belden is strengthening its presence in the television market by seeking new partners to integrate its products into major installations around the world, with special attention to Brazil and its major sporting events in the coming years.

Belden is an international company in which more than six thousand professionals work to create network connectivity solutions for different sectors. Cables, connectors and switches for the broadcast, transportation, energy and consumer electronics industries are its main pillars.

The company was born from the merger of Belden and Cable Design Technologies in 2004, growing in recent years thanks to the purchase of new companies and technologies. The purchase of Telecast Fiber Systems, for example, has been essential for it to fully enter the market for audio and video transport in studios and mobile units.

The purchase carried out in 2009 had a great impact on the North American market, strengthening its presence in all broadcasters.

Growth in Latin America

To date, Belden has not had an aggressive strategy in Latin America, especially in Brazil. Now, with our sights set on broadcast, industrial and installations, we find growth of up to 50% in markets such as Brazil. Until now it did not have a strong penetration in the line of fiber optics and network cables, but now it is advancing with the support of its line of Hirschmann switches and routers and with a shorter delivery time thanks to its factory in Mexico.

Television market

Taking into account that Belden solutions are usually used in the Summer and Winter Olympic Games, in addition to being present in half of the North American broadcasters, the World Cup and the Olympic Games in Brazil have attracted the brand's attention. For this reason, Belden has hired new staff and strengthened its relationship with distributors.

Without a doubt, Brazil presents great growth potential for the company, even more so taking into account the progressive digitalization of Brazilian broadcasters and post-production companies.

Belden offers a wide variety of cabling, covering industrial, entertainment, structured networking (LAN) and fiber optic market applications.

The company currently has eleven factories, with its headquarters in St. Louis (Missouri), and maintaining operations in North America, Latin America, Europe, the Middle East, Africa and Asia.

Belden's annual gross revenue is approximately $1.1 billion. Around 60% of sales take place in the US, 30% in Europe and 10% in the rest of the territories.

The purchase of the Brazilian Poliron Cabos Elétricos Especiais represented a 30 million dollar operation, helping Belden reduce production costs and delivery times throughout Latin America.
