The Australian company confirms the purchase of the manufacturer of video processors and converters.

Blackmagic Design has just announced the purchase of video processor and converter manufacturer Teranex.

According to Blackmagic CEO Grant Petty, “this purchase will complement our solutions for high-quality processing at broadcasters, production companies and film companies.” Blackmagic assures that Teranex will continue to support its customers normally and will also have the Blackmagic Design distribution structure around the world. Teranex's current headquarters in Orlando (USA) will become a subsidiary of Blackmagic.

Teranex Systems became very popular in the market for the quality achieved with its processors for image deinterlacing, up-down conversion, SD and HD cross-conversion, noise reduction and ratio adjustment, always maintaining the characteristics of time code and multichannel audio.

With the emergence of stereoscopy, Teranex has managed to gain a privileged position with its 2D-3D converter and processor, of which it presented the latest version (V-400) at the last IBC.
