This upgrade enables multi-channel recording of up to 40 fully digital 24-bit channels on Sonar X1 Producer with Roland's V-Mixing system.

Roland announced that the Sonar REAC recording system update version 1.3.1 for Cakewalk Sonar X1 Producer (including SONAR X1 Production Suite or Sonar X1 Producer with Sonar X1 Producer Expanded) is now available on the website. This upgrade enables multi-channel recording of up to 40 fully digital 24-bit channels on Sonar X1 Producer with Roland's V-Mixing system.

The update can be applied to current users of the REAC Sonar recording system who have SONAR 7/8/8.5 Producer + the REAC recording driver. In a few months, the driver will be released for new users of the Sonar REAC recording system.

The Sonar REAC recording system has been developed to work specifically with the V-Mixing system and allows you to record 40 audio tracks from the Gigabit Ethernet port. The REAC (Roland Ethernet Audio Communication) protocol allows 40 channels of 24-bit audio to be transmitted at frequencies up to 96 kHz, over an affordable Cat5e cable. With the Sonar REAC recording system, users simply connect a Cat5e cable from a REAC system to a gigabit network port on a PC running Sonar software, to record up to 40 simultaneous channels of pure 24-bit audio.

For affordable, top-quality live digital audio capture, the key is to add the power and flexibility of Sonar to Roland's revolutionary V-Mixing system. Once the audio has been captured, the user can take advantage of Sonar's extensive editing capabilities to achieve professionally finished productions.
