Avid Customers Win Oscars, Grammys and ACE Eddie Awards

To give just one example of the good streak of Avid users in the main industry awards, it is enough to point out that during the Annual Academy Awards ceremony in Hollywood, more than 40 Avid clients received nominations, achieving the coveted statuette in the categories of Best Film, Sound Editing, Sound Mixing and Animated Feature Film.

84th Annual Academy Awards

Eight of the nine films nominated for best picture used Avid audio or video solutions, including The Artist, Los descendientes, Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close (So strong and so close), Hugo's invention (titled as The invention of Hugo Cabret in Argentina), Moneyball, The Help, The Tree of Life y workhorse. The Artist it won the Best Editing Award in its category and was edited with Avid Media Composer. Avid clients also took home awards in the Animated Feature, Sound Editing and Sound Mixing categories.

Kevin Tent, A.C.E. editor, who received an ACE Eddie Award (Best Dramatic Feature Film Editing) and an Oscar nomination (Film Editing) for his work on The Descendants, noted that "I've been using Avid since 1996.
