Michael Lynton named CEO of Sony Corporation America

Lynton will supervise entertainment businesses such as Sony Music Entertainment, Sony/ATV Music Publishing and Sony Pictures Entertainment. Lynton will remain as Chairman and CEO of Sony Pictures Entertainment. Amy Pascal will continue as co-chairman.

Sony announced that Michael Lynton will be the CEO of Sony Corporation of America (SCA) and Nicole Seligman will assume the position of president from next June 27. Lynton and Seligman will report to Kazuo Hirai who has just assumed this April first as CEO and president of Sony Corporation

On April 1, Kazuo Hirai officially becomes president and CEO of Sony Corporation. Howard Stringer will continue as Chairman until June 27 and then will make the transition to Chairman from Sony's board of directors. Stringer has also been Chairman and CEO of Sony Corporation America since 1998. Chairman's position of the Board of Directors of Sony Corporation America will be assumed by Hirai on June 27. Lynton and Seligman will report to Hirai.
