With a degree in Computer Engineering and Bioengineering, Tsuga brings extensive knowledge of the company and great experience to his new position, having worked at Panasonic for 33 years in different executive positions.

Panasonic Corporation ha anunciado hoy que Kazuhiro Tsuga ha sido nombrado presidente de la compañía, tras la Junta General Ordinaria de Accionistas y después de las reuniones de la Junta de Dirección y la Junta de Auditores. A partir de ahora, Tsuga tomará el relevo al anterior presidente Fumio Ohtsubo, dirigiendo la compañía hacia la consecución del objetivo de convertirse en la compañía número uno en innovación “verde” del sector de la electrónica de consumo en 2018.

Tsuga highlighted that "looking to 2018, the 100th anniversary of our founding, we are working under the great vision of becoming a Green Innovation Company where we can integrate environmental contribution and business growth. By making people the central axis of our activities, and focusing our efforts on people's lives and their activities, we will be able to achieve the contribution we hope to make as a company."

Tsuga brings extensive knowledge of the company and extensive experience to his new position, having worked at Panasonic for 33 years in various business positions. Graduated in Computer Engineering and Bioengineering, he has held various senior positions within the company, particularly in technology management. Since 2011, Tsuga has been president of the Audio and Video Networks Company (AVC Networks Company), the internal arm responsible for Panasonic's audiovisual and Information and Technology (IT) equipment.

From 2008 to 2011, Tsuga led Panasonic Automotive Systems Company where he revived the company's electric vehicle business and laid the foundation for its expansion, taking the company in a new direction including the creation of devices and systems for green vehicles.

In 2006 his efforts at Panasonic focused on digital network and technological software development, directing the Digital Network Strategic Planning Office and the Research and Development Centers outside Japan.

In addition to his internal responsibilities at Panasonic, Tsuga has actively contributed to the advancement of major industry efforts, including the standardization of DVD and Blu-ray formats, the formation of the Digital Living Network Alliance, among other initiatives.

Tsuga will use his knowledge and experience from his entire career to guide the company through its largest transformation yet, shifting the focus of the business toward innovation in sustainability and technology.

Fumio Ohtsubo, who served as president since June 2006, will now become Chairman of the Board, while Kunio Nakamura, until now Chairman of the Board, will serve as executive advisor.
