This camcorder will record in MPEG HD422 Long-GOP, being compatible with 720p/1080i/1080p resolutions with bitrates of up to 50Mbps, as well as in MPEG HD420 at 35/25Mbps or DVCAM at 25Mbps. The user can choose SxS PRO, Memory Stick, SD cards and even the new XQD memories as media storage.
Sony continues warming up ahead of NAB 2012 and now announces the launch of a new camcorder in the XDCAM range. The new PMW-100 is emerging as a lightweight, high-end camera with maximum performance.
Equipped with a 1/2.9-inch Exmor CMOS sensor and a 5.4-54 mm zoom (equivalent to a 40-400mm in 35mm), its excellent low-light response would allow it to record with just 0.08 lux.

A feature worth highlighting is the possibility of variable speed ramps between 1 fps and 60 fps in 720p mode and between 1 fps and 30 fps in 1080p mode.
In terms of connectivity, it has XLR inputs with phantom power (being able to record 4 channels with PCM compression, 48 kHz and 24 bits depth) and HD/SD-SDI, component, Genlock input and timecode (in/out) jacks. Finally, note that it will have a 3.5” LCD viewfinder with 852×480 pixels.
