Merlin: the new Tieline IP codec

It offers stereo bidirectional audio and Full-Duplex communications in point-to-point connections and outdoor emissions.

Tieline presented in NAB its new codec IP Merlin designed to offer very reliable high quality connections on a wide range of IP networks.

Its designed has been based on the popular Commander G3, the Codec IP Merlin audio of 1u Rack, and offers stereo bidirectional audio and Full-Duplex communications in point-to-point connections and in outdoor emissions. It is ideal for installation in studies and mobile units.

Merlin connects to all the Tieline IP codecs: G3, Bridge-T and Genie. It is also able to make two simultaneous connections with smartphones that use the application of Tieline Report It Enterprise.

Merlin includes IP SmartStream IP technology that offers adequate network management tools to dynamically adapt to the variable conditions of IP networks, especially in situations where we do not have service quality (QOs). Smartstream also offers compatibility with IPv4 and IPV6 networks.

Merlin is available as IP codec although in near future it will accept insertable modules in the back that will allow connecting by RDSI and RTB.

Merlin is another step in the consolidation of Tieline's innovation leadership in IP codecs, thanks to characteristics such as redundant power supplies, detection of silence and redundancy of transparent network thanks to its redundant Gigabit LAN ports. Network failure detection allows automatic Backup IP network or an alternative network.

Merlin is compatible with the application of Tieline Codec Management System, which allows us to use any PC to remotely control our entire IP codec network.
