Landmark advertising space management software enables BSkyB's sales office, Sky Media, to manage all commercial inventory across 200 channels owned by Sky and its partners.

British Sky Broadcasting Group (BSkyB) has renewed its contract with Harris Corporation for the supply of Landmark multimedia and broadcast sales software for a further five years - with the option of an additional three-year extension. BSkyB and Harris will also work together on new Landmark software capabilities to address future multimedia sales challenges.

Landmark sales software enables BSkyB's sales office, Sky Media, to manage commercial spaces across 200 channels owned by Sky and its partners, totaling more than 24 million advertising spots per year. Powerful automated capabilities across rate management, booking, traffic and spot reconciliation enable Sky Media to achieve efficient airtime utilization and large-scale multi-channel management.

Nick Milligan, CEO of Sky Media, commented: “Sky Media has been using Landmark for almost five years, and this contract renewal reflects our belief, based on experience, that this platform is the best way to address the challenges of our core sales of spots and addressable and non-linear advertising.”

For his part, Harris Morris, president of Harris Broadcast Communications, said: "Our Landmark multimedia and broadcast sales system is widely recognized internationally by market leaders, such as BSkyB, who have complex needs for the management and execution of campaigns across multi-channel and multimedia environments. Broadcasters of the caliber of BSkyB seek a close, long-term relationship with suppliers in order to benefit from it and influence new features and functionality. It is the type of relationship that helps us develop our portfolio. of products and to meet the changing needs of customers.”
