With the migration of Disney Channel, the Morpheus installation in Plazamedia in Germany becomes one of the most relevant in Europe.

The German Plazamedia has implemented a new automation based on Morpheus of Snell for all of its premium channels. Its offering includes numerous HD sports channels, as well as Sky HD and Disney Channel, among others. From its headquarters in Ismaning, north of Munich, Plazamedia broadcasts Sky Sport channels, including four SD channels, three HD channels, and Sky3D, as well as a “wild card” package of channels that allows Sky to open up additional programming slots. In addition, the channels Sport1 and Sport1+ are also running on Morpheus, as well as two channels for Walt Disney Company Germany (Disney XD and Disney Junior), the new pay channel My German TV and the sports channel My Sports Germany.

Plazamedia decided to migrate Disney Channel to Morpheus automation in order to meet the specifications of its client, The Walt Disney Company in Germany.

In addition to Morpheus automation, the installation integrates nine Snell Sirius 600 matrices, including two 64×64, two 256×256, and the rest in 128×128 configuration.

"Because 80% of our Sirius arrays are controlled by Morpheus automation, it made sense to choose automation hardware and software from the same manufacturer. Looking back, this has saved us a lot of time during channel design and commissioning, since all consulting and support services are managed by the same team of Snell experts," said Wieland.
