Grégory Samak, new global director of Antena at Euronews

It will have the mission of energizing the channel, its grid and its programs on all media.

Grégory Samak, 39, joins the executive committee of the pan-European news channel Euronews. Michael Peters, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Euronews, has entrusted him with the global direction of Antena and Program Marketing. He will have the mission of energizing the channel, its schedule and its programs in all media, contributing his extensive experience in television and the media. One of its first objectives will be to highlight on the air the in-depth work carried out by the 450 journalists of more than 30 nationalities, who make up the 11 editions of the Euronews editorial team, directed by Lucian Sârb.

Michael Peters has highlighted that "Grégory's professionalism in relation to antenna management and his career in the media will be a real accelerator for the channel and for the enhancement of its content. Grégory's role extends to the antenna in general, that is, to all our antennas in particular, since he also has the objective of creating a high synergy between the contents and the different digital platforms, Internet, connected TV, mobile applications..., on a global scale. He will contribute a lot in “the reinforcement of our global information hub strategy.”

Grégory Samak ha señalado que “Euronews es un medio de comunicación único en el sector de la información, intrínsecamente multicultural y resueltamente internacional, que cuenta con una gran riqueza de programas. Samak inició su carrera en 1998 en la cadena de información continua norteamericana ABC News antes de entrar en el Grupo AB. Fue director de gabinete del presidente del grupo y luego director del proyecto TNT. A dicho título, fue secretario general del agrupamiento TNT y más tarde fue nombrado director general de la cadena NT1. A partir del verano 2005 participó en la creación de la cadena de información continua BFM TV como director general adjunto, responsable de la antena y de la administración y luego fue nombrado secretario general de NextradioTV.

He has a diploma from the Institute of Political Studies of Aix-en-Provence, class of 1995, and is also the holder of a DEA in television and cinema from the Sorbonne – Paris I and a Master in Media from the Paris Higher School of Commerce (ESCP-EAP).
