The Thin Air SNG unit is the only one in the UK capable of providing HD MPEG4/H.264 encoded signals with up to 32APSK modulation and 16 audio channels.

The EN-81 encoder/modulator has been specially designed for Tier 1 satellite, ASI/fiber and IP contributions and DSNG applications. It offers HD and SD MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC along with 16 audio channels. The RD-60 receiver/decoder supports MPEG-2 and MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 platforms with 4:2:0 and 4:2:2 HD and SD decoding. The audio channels allow you to work with MPEG-1 Layer 2, Dolby AC3/5.1, HE-AAC and AAC-LC encoding.

Thin Air Broadcasting, unlike most service providers who are offering low-profile MPEG4 and DVB-S2, operates in MPEG4 4:2:2 with maximum modulation (16APSK / 32APSK), with Dobly-E audio distributed over 16 channels.
