Cinema and sport come together with Sony's 3D Wimbledon broadcast

Sony Digital Cinema has announced that five major international television networks and numerous movie theaters will offer the 2012 Wimbledon men's final to the world in 3D format.
For the second consecutive year, Sony will be responsible for broadcasting Wimbledon live and in 3D around the world through the distributor SuperVision Media to bring all the excitement of Center Court to those fans who cannot attend the tournament.
Five major television networks have confirmed that they will broadcast Sony's 3D images live on their channels. For their part, theaters throughout Europe, North America, Africa, Latin America and Asia will offer the show on their screens. Negotiations with television stations and exhibitors have not yet ended, so it is expected that the number of networks and theaters where the event will be broadcast will increase. To carry out this great production, Sony will have the collaboration of the AELTC club (All England Lawn Tennis Club) and the support of the British lawn tennis federation, the LTA.
