IPI Soft updates iPi Motion Capture with its version 2.0

Coinciding with Siggraph 2012, the Russian IPI Soft will release version 2.0 of iPi Motion Capture, its motion capture technology.

The new version of iPi Motion Capture that IP Soft premiering at Siggraph 2012, it provides filmmakers, CG animators, graphic designers, video game developers and other entertainment verticals with a set of tools that help create realistic effects on characters with greater precision and streamlining workflow. This tool offers the ability to detect finger tracking, character tracking, and support for most sensors, including Asus Xtion and Kinect for Windows.

The announcement of the new version follows the successful introduction in late 2011 of the ability to work with two Kinect sensors to capture complex human movements, including 360-degree perspectives.

Michael Nikonov, co-founder of IPI Soft, says many of the improved features in iPi Motion Capture version 2.0 have been the result of listening to user feedback. “The new data formats in version 2.0 enable more efficient delivery of motion capture with portable data recording that will immediately help our customers meet the challenges of composing believable characters in immersive 3D environments.”
