Income from the distribution of online content now represents 12.8% of the BBC's total income, with an increase of 58% compared to the previous year.

Just one year after its launch, BBC Worldwide's iPlayer app has reached one million downloads.

This application offers users outside the United Kingdom “the best of BBC content” for about 50 euros per year.

BBC Worldwide's iPlayer offers a mix of new and archived content and has originally been launched in around fifteen countries, with plans to arrive in the US and Canada soon.

The rise of this type of alternative consumption to traditional broadcasting is accompanied by a significant increase in the volume of income from distribution on online platforms. These digital income now represent 12.8% of the BBC's total income, with an increase of 58 percent compared to the previous year.
