In this year, Panasonic consolidates in IBC a new range of products based on AVC Ultra technology, highlighting the introduction of the brand in key markets such as the collection under study or environments with remote cameras integrated with IP connectivity.

An IBC 2011, Panasonic He surprised with the appearance of the Codecs Avc Ultra family, from AVC Proxy to AVC Intra 444 (4: 4: 4 12 bit 4K).

A year later, this great flexibility codec has been able to adapt to each need and each workflow responding with very high quality patterns to the most diverse challenges from the webcasting and the live contribution via IP (instantaneous transmission of content from the camera with high resolution and proxy and metadata with avcproxy) to digital cinematography with Avcintra 444 Raster), without forgetting the Avclong25 and 50 (4: 2: 2) and Avcintra 100 and 200 (1080/50i 4: 2: 2: 2: 2: 2: 2: 2) for the production of news and documentaries.

In terms of medium support, the new Micro P2 are allowing professionals to access the content more accessible and rapidly with a high data transfer, the same reliability as P2 cards (with integration with RAID systems) and the possibility of using an adapter for PCMCIA.

In this year, Panasonic has been consolidating a new range of products based on AVC Ultra technology, highlighting the introduction of the brand in key markets such as the collection under study.

This is the case of the AG-HPX600, AK-HC3800, AG-AC90 and the AW-HE60 S/H (PAN/TILT). These products should be added the BT-LH2170 monitor that helps complete an offer of solutions adapted to each need.

Connected world

One of the most interesting areas of the Panasonic stand is found in the so -called "connected world" in the Japanese manufacturer shows how it is possible to carry out with the Panasonic Streaming solution the instantaneous transmission of content from the chamber itself to the central control of a chain with high quality image, at the same time as in proxy for other types of webcasting applications.

In this aspect, metadata work allows, for example, with the Panasonic Wireless Editing solution to use devices such as an iPad to select and display material from the camera itself, mark entry or output points, include registration data ... and can even arrange the images not only on the tablet but also in an external monitor managing from the same device.

In this area we find an interesting sample of the synergy that Panasonic maintains with Liveu for live contribution thanks to the link on mobile networks LU40i and the new Camcorder AJ-HPX600 P2.

Together both solutions allow a transmission using cellular networks with a very high video quality and a very simple operation. These systems have already been used with remarkable success during the Super Bowl, NBA (All-Star Weekend and Finals) and the Grammy Awards.

Stereoscopy

Panasonic has congratulated in this IBC of the success achieved during the London Olympic Games. Among the large equipment supplied, the 18 units of the Camcorder P2HD Stereoscopic double lens AG-3DP1 allowed to collect with the maximum bright and, for the first time in stereoscopic, all the details with an agility, flexibility and immediacy never seen before in a live event produced in 3D.

In total, Olympic Broadcast Services (OBS) has produced more than 200 hours of 3D coverage during the 2012 London Games using Panasonic 3D production technology.

During the Games, the Sererford Olympics stadium had the largest screen in the world (152 ”) prepared in this case to watch 3D images.

New generation of remote integrated cameras

As for remote systems of integrated cameras, which are getting more popularity every day in applications such as news or realities studies, Panasonic presents in this IBC 2012 the new AW-He60s/H and AW-He2 integrated cameras.

Both AW-HE60s and AW-HE60H are the first cameras with IP monitoring capacity.

They are equipped with a 1/3 full HD sensor and a 18x zoom lens, being able to offer signal in different formats included HD/SDI SD (AW-He60s Only), HDMI 1080P (AW-He60H Only), analog components (D-Sub15 Pin) and compound. It incorporates DRS dynamic range function to minimize the saturation of high lights while blocking dark areas with a digital hybrid noise reduction (Hybrid DNR).

But perhaps one of the most striking aspects is its excellent response in night with infrared.

As for the AW-He2, it is a low-cost model with 14 megapixel sensor and ultra high resolution technology to allow a 2x zoom. PAN/TILT/ZOOM control is possible by an image cropping. As for exit supports multiple SD/HD formats even Full HD 1080p.

Both AW-HE60s and HE60H can be controlled remotely from the AW-RP50 panel designed by Panasonic for the integration of HD cameras. The AW-RP50 or a simple PC/ MAC can control up to a hundred units of these new cameras with IP connectivity.

In the area dedicated to the realization, we find the multiformat Mixer HD AV-HD410 next to the professional plasma TH-50BT300 used as a multivewer.

I am a student

As for study, the range of cameras with which Panasonic intends to recover non-propitious land for the brand in Europe in recent years is increased again, surprising in this case the market with a camera like the new AK-HC3800. This camera thus complements the product offer under study with the excellent reception in the AK-HC3500 market.

The AK-HC3800 EFP guarantees the highest image quality thanks to the high sensitivity of the 2/3 of 2.2 megapixels and the internal video processing circuit at 38 bit DSP with A/D conversion to 16 bit.

The camera incorporates notable adjustment functions, including quality compensation functions such as chromatic aberration and identification of scene memories with respect to the dynamic DRS range.

The AK-HCU200 camera control unit combined with the AK-HRP200G remote operating panel allows for the first time a degree of versatility in transmission by unknown fiber optic transmission so far at an affordable price.

Its IP and LAN Cable connectivity also allows you to integrate the latest generation studio workflows. The camera also has a small 7-inch LCD viewer (AK-HVF70).

In this àrea we can see the study system that Panasonic offered for cameras such as the AK-HC3800 with complete camera control, food from the base unit and return signals, video return, Tally, Intercom, Genlock and Chamber Control.

AG-HPX600

One of the Panasonic stars in its stand is the new AG-HPX600 that combines high performance, ease of handling, expandable functions and a design prepared for future updates, with the aim of covering a wide range of uses, from the production of images to Broadcast applications.

Being a 2/3 ”shoulder chamber, it adapts to a wide variety of interchangeable lenses. In addition, its compact body provides great mobility thanks to the smallest weight of the industry: the camera body weighs approximately 2.8kg.

Its new development sensor reaches a high sensitivity of F13 to 50Hz, and low noise thanks to its 59DB s/n ratio. It includes multiple HD/SD codec, such as AVC-INTRA100/50, DVCPROHD, DVCPRO50, DVCPRO and DV. In addition to these basic characteristics, a wide range of functions are optionally available, such as network connectivity or variable box speed (VFR). In this way, the camera can adapt to numerous and diverse applications with the minimum cost. It is also compatible with the new P2HD technologies such as the AVC-Ultra codec and the MICROP2 card (magazine for a future launch as payment updates).

Camcorder AG-HPX600 is the lightest in its class, since the camera body weighs approximately 2.8kg. Having a compact body provides total mobility. It is also designed to offer excellent visibility. The interchangeable lens system with 2/3 ”bayonet mount allows you to choose from a wide variety of 2/3” lenses of other manufacturers.

Its new development sensor provides a high sensitivity from F13 to 50Hz (F12 to 59.94Hz), and low noise with a 59DB S/N ratio (standard), figures higher than those achieved by many 3CCD cameras of 2/3 ”. Thanks to a high speed sweep, SKEW's distortion is minimized, typical of Rolling Shutter.

Through a high quality image processor, the AG-HPX600 offers the following image settings: CAC (Compensation of chromatic aberrations), DRS (dynamic range extension), Compensation of flash bands (FBC) and selection of up to 7 different gamma curves.

In addition, it supports high-resolution proxy video (with the optional video coding ag-YDX600G). With this option, the AG-HPX600EJ records proxy files on SD/SDHC memory cards and/or on P2 cards. It is compatible with high quality video (Quicktime/H.264) and audio formats at a very low binary rate. High quality proxy files can be used to disseminate last minute news, or in other scenarios that require a faster workflow. The proxy video speeds up the production flow of production by allowing the editor to review the details of the content during the offline edition. The AG-YDX600G plate will be available in September 2012. It is noteworthy that proxy data cannot be recorded when the loop recording function or intervals is used. Proxy data is made up of low resolution video, audio, time code, metadata and other management data, in file format.

Together with the AG-SFU601G software update and the AJ-WM30E wireless module it is possible smartphone. While the transmitted files are displayed, metadata can be added to the P2 clips.
