Latin American cinema conquers San Sebastián
Along with the Horizontes Award, which recognizes the best Latin American film, in this edition of the San Sebastián Festival, Latin cinema has won six other awards.
The Argentine director Armando Bo has won the Horizontes Latinos Award with his debut film The last Elvis.
Also the director of dog meat, Fernando Guzzoni, has won the “New Directors” award with a difficult and tough film in which he tells the daily life of an anonymous official who was a torturer in the dictatorship and today is alone and disoriented in a harsh and striking change of point of view that falls to the other side.

In the New Directors section he received a mention The cleaner, by Peruvian Adrián Saba, in a film that unites a forensic cleaner and a child in Lima.
The Youth Prize, awarded by the young jury, went to the debut film by Paraguayans Juan Carlos Maneglia and Tania Schémbori, 7 boxes. It is noteworthy that this thriller won the Film in Progress Award in the last edition of the festival, being very well received this year among critics and the public.
Finally, note the special mention for After Lucia, a film by Michel Franco that will represent Mexico at the Oscars and the Goya, and once upon a time I, Verónica”, an existentialist film by Brazilian Marcelo Gómez.
