Telestream and Matrox join resources to facilitate live streaming

The new Wirecast turnkey solution allows users to stream live video at resolutions up to 1080p HD and save productions to disk for on-demand distribution in a variety of formats.

Telestream has announced the availability of a new turnkey solution for live video streaming. This solution is based on the VS4 four-channel capture card from Matrox and Telestream Wirecast production software for Windows.

This combination allows for agile handling of multi-camera video and its distribution in live streaming.

Filippa Hasselstrom, Wirecast Product Manager at Telestream, stated that this solution "allows producers to easily switch between multiple channels and record live camera from the Matrox VS4. In addition, it offers production functions such as chroma key, transitions, templates, graphics, sets and virtual effects."

And it couldn't be simpler. Just connect the cameras, start Wirecast and broadcast. Matrox VS4 automatically detects the presence, resolution and frame rate of each input and also allows simultaneous ISO recording. "

In addition to capturing and sending four video sources to Wirecast for live streaming, Matrox VS4 simultaneously records the original high-quality video to disk for later editing. Wirecast allows users to stream video at resolutions up to 1080p HD and save productions to disk for on-demand distribution in a variety of web-friendly formats, including QuickTime H.264, Windows Media or Flash. The system also offers audio/video synchronization and support for up to eight integrated audio channels per input.

Furthermore, users can combine an unlimited number of pre-recorded videos, titles and graphics with the four live video sources. Transitions, titles, composite templates, markers, 3D images, virtual sets and Chroma Key allow you to give productions a professional finish.

Users can easily configure Wirecast with major streaming platforms and CDNs such as YouTube, Ustream, and Twitch, while selecting resolutions and bandwidth depending on the destination. In addition to streaming live video anywhere, users can view video locally on an external monitor or projector.
