Roland V-02HD: a simple ultra-compact micro-mixer for live streaming

This ultra-compact 'micro mixer' is designed to solve problems in live streaming and video production processes, and fits in most camera cases, making it easy to use in any production, as well as easily attaching to standard video stands and tripods.

Roland V-02HD offers professional switching with cross-dissolve between sources, maintaining a high screen resolution per pixel, with 4:4:4 color space to 10 bits. It can also transform a two-camera shoot into a simple one-person controlled production, offering a reliable system for effortless recording and live streaming.

This device supports the outputs of two HDMI cameras and seamlessly switches to a connected recorder or live streaming encoder. Thanks to its simple two-button operation, even an inexperienced user can mix multiple sources, and an optional footswitch fader can also be used.

Although not all HDMI equipment is compatible, the Roland V-02HD adjusts it to the resolution of the receiving equipment and then resizes the signal based on the corresponding display, offering input and output scalers, as well as HDCP/multi-format support. It also supports SD, HD and computer resolutions from 1,080/59.94p up to 640x480/60 Hz VGA.

Front panel controls allow you to apply transition, compositing, and visual effects tools in real time. It has fourteen visual effects and five compositing effects, with adjustable parameters for retouching the results, which operators can use to add titles, apply the Key effect and work with green screen or create an inset window with the PinP function.

This system mixes two-channel audio from HDMI-de-embedded sources, along with an analog audio input for external sources, via a 3.5mm jack. The device supports 24-bit/48 kHz linear PCM analog and digital audio, with embedded HDMI outputs for recording and livestreaming, as well as analog output to a specific audio mixer or other equipment, or for headphone monitoring via a second 3.5 mm jack.

Integrated audio processing includes three-band equalizer, high-pass filter, compressor, noise gate, multi-band compressor, limiter and delay, plus a test sound output.

A built-in effects library offers presets to handle standard production applications (interviews, ambient sound recording, and outdoor wind noise removal). These tools even work with built-in HDMI signals, allowing you to correct audio problems without leaving the digital environment.
