The British broadcaster uses Vizrt's graphics management system to air animated 3D graphics on its news channel.

Sky News, the news channel of the Sky group in the United Kingdom, is using Top of the Hour some highlights with the most relevant news in which very advanced 3D graphics are used. This opening includes videos and images from the different Sky News windows (online, iPad and mobile platforms), displayed as a 3D video window within the package, in which Viz Content Pilot of Vizrt plays a relevant role.

The animation uses Viz Content Pilot, from Vizrt, a video and graphics management system that takes the editorial content of each Sky News online media and places it in the 3D graphics that were already displayed, in real time, preserving the fonts and layouts of the theme.

Top of the Hour is broadcast on SD and HD channels, so Viz Content Pilot feeds both versions automatically.

Brent Jones, director of Sky's 3D/effects department, highlighted that "this animated opening allows us to offer viewers a glimpse into the company's different information environments. The system is easy to set up and use. The latest content from our online platforms is automatically integrated into our 3D environment in a very efficient flow, which benefits both the design and our daily operations. The final graphics are accessible to the technical director and producers in the control room through Viz Content Pilot and iNews, which allows them to have the possibility of changing an image or news at the last minute.”
