Theoretical and practical explanations were made by Tony Delp senior product specialist at Grass Valley. They had the support of Electo Reyes, systems architect; José Calles, regional business manager of the same company, in turn, of the Video Broadcast work team led by Gustavo Reátegui as general manager.

The introduction of LDX cameras represents another example of Grass Valley's commitment to the growing market for HD productions of live and studio events. José Calles highlights the advantage of "the possibility of having a common platform throughout the entire chain of HD cameras to which you can add different features, formats and functions through temporary or permanent software options make this product unique in the industry for this type of solutions at the highest level of technological quality existing on the market and an excellent cost-benefit ratio."

Main features

Among the main features of the LDX camera platform that were demonstrated at the event, the three Xensium FT image sensors stood out; the line has for the first time a new generation of 2/3-inch image sensors. These combine all the advantages of the best CCD image sensors, with the latest in CMOS imaging technology. Those advantages include: digital signal output from the image sensor itself, high dynamic range and sensitivity in both progressive and interlaced formats, very high signal-to-noise ratio, and low power consumption
It was also evident that this is a highly flexible camera system with an exceptional set of features and specifications, and offers unrivaled technological sophistication with its four software-based levels of Flex, Premiere, Elite and Worldcam.

Fully supports Grass Valley 3G fiber and triax transmission solutions, and any combination of both. To support 3G transmission, various 3G conversion devices and the Reflex SuperXpander large lens adapter were developed, making 3G image capture even easier.

The new XCU base station system (the first of its kind) incorporates an independent, rack-mountable, low-cost cradle, in which all external signal connections are made, from the camera base station where all the electronics are located. The XCU system allows greater flexibility in the use of available hardware resources, reducing installation time, even in the most demanding situations.
