The new audio processor for digital television includes upmixing/downmixing via Upmax II, and Dolby Digital decoding, among other functions.

Linear Aero.100

Linear Acoustic has launched a new product in its growing line of sound pressure processors and managers for digital television. The new Aero.100 includes upmixing/downmixing via Upmax II, and decodes Dolby Digital (AC-3) and Dolby E, in addition to Dolby Digital (AC-3). Linear optionally offers a non-encoder version and the ability to include Nielsen watermark decoding.

Linear Acoustic's Intelligent Dynamics (ID) hybrid metadata loudness control also comes standard on these new devices. ID allows the content to determine the amount of processing required and provides a balance between automatically adjustable and reversible permanent control. High-quality content is preserved while unknown content is adjusted, resulting in highly satisfying audio for both viewers and broadcast professionals.

A new, selectable Advanced ITU (AI) limiter allows compliance with more restrictive ITU/EBU regulations, when necessary.

The equipment supports up to ten decoded baseband audio channels in a 5.1+2+2 (Local/EAS) configuration via 3GHz HD/SD-SDI I/O, with video delay included or through eight AES I/O channels with referenced input. The ITU-R BS.1770-3 meter simplifies loudness monitoring for each program, while a built-in HTTP server offers access to log data.

A TCP/IP remote control also offers the possibility of configuration, adjustment and display of all the Aero.100 parameters, including loudness metrics, Dolby Digital (AC3) statistics and even return audio.
The software can connect to multiple Aero.100 units simultaneously, for those monitoring multiple broadcasts from different points.
