The ICAA grants aid for the amortization of feature films 2013
In total, 50 grants have been awarded to 33 films for a value of more than 24 million euros.
The Institute of Cinematography and Audiovisual Arts (ICAA) has resolved the 2013 call for general and complementary aid for the amortization of feature-length films in the 2013 call, which included works released between January 1 and September 30, 2011. In total, it has granted 50 aid to 33 films for a total value of 24,380,069.29 euros.
Of the total, 4,833,031.029 euros have been awarded in the modality of general aid for amortization and 19,547,038 euros in the modality of complementary aid for amortization. The average cost of the films that have benefited from the aid has been €2,845,684.47 and the average investment by the producer has been €2,663,385.01.
Aid is granted taking into account automatic objective criteria such as public acceptance during the screening period in cinema exhibition halls; the collection obtained; reception by viewers through other media; or sales and rental operations remunerated at the market price of the film.
Another of the criteria for granting this aid is paid screenings at festivals and competitions held in Spain. In this sense, the score obtained by 3 of the films in the section of participation in festivals of recognized international prestige or for obtaining awards or distinctions, such as: There will be no peace for the wicked for its presence at the San Sebastián International Film Festival and at the Goya Awards, where it was awarded; The sleeping voice, for participating in the San Sebastián International Film Festival, achieving an award within it and being selected for the Goya awards; and, The skin I live in, for her participation in the Cannes International Film Festival, in the Goya Awards and being nominated for a Golden Globe.
Regarding the languages of exhibition of the beneficiary films, 27 have been shown in Spanish, 3 in Catalan, 2 in Basque, 1 in Galician, 1 in Dongo, 1 in English and 2 in Portuguese.
Regarding the companies producing the beneficiary films, 1 of them belongs to the Autonomous Community of Castilla y León, 2 to the Basque Country, 2 to the Valencian Community, 4 to Galicia, 5 to Andalusia, 11 to Catalonia and 20 to the Community of Madrid.

Of the 33 films that have received support, 11 correspond to new directors.
The objective of this aid is to amortize the cost of film production and encourage their marketing, trying to increase the market share of Spanish cinema and maintain a stable production volume.
