Atresmedia obtains an EBITDA of 45.5 million euros and its net profit reaches 28.3 million
After the merger with LaSexta, the company managed to save 116 million euros in the third quarter due to cost adjustments and increase its net income by 13%.
Atresmedia's results in the first nine months of the year once again demonstrate the benefits of the merger with laSexta and that the company continues to optimize its main indicators. In a context marked by the difficulties that the advertising market is going through, Atresmedia has achieved an EBITDA of 45.5 million euros, with a growth of +91.5% and has managed to increase its net profit to 28.3 million, which represents an increase of +514.1%. Compared to pro forma losses (on results obtained by the Antena 3 Group and LaSexta in the same period of 2012, before the merger) of 48.7 million euros before the merger, Atresmedia achieved a net profit of 28.3 million euros until September.
The extraordinary effort made by the company to contain expenses, with savings in the pro forma analysis of 116.1 million euros (-17.8%) due to cost adjustments and synergies, together with the increase in Net Income (+13.3%, to 581.2 million euros), in an advertising market that fell by 12.6%, are the main keys that explain this notable improvement in Results. Likewise, to these factors we must add the effectiveness, after integration, of the new commercial policy, which has managed to extract maximum performance from the notable increase in audience experienced by the channels that make up Atresmedia Televisión.
The average accumulated audience as of September 2013 for all channels has been 28.5%, + 3.4 points with respect to the aggregate audience of the Television business channels and LaSexta in the first 9 months of 2012. Atresmedia leads prime time both in total individuals (29.1%) and in commercial target (32.6%), surpassing Mediaset España in both comparisons, by 2 and 3.8 points, respectively. Likewise, Atresmedia TV consolidates its position in the market with an investment share of 43.1%, according to Infoadex.
