Colin Arthur

The Elche Fantastic Film Festival will pay tribute to Colin Arthur, one of the most famous creators of magic in the history of cinema. The master of special effects will be the guest star of the second edition of Fanta Elx, which will be held on February 21 and 22 at the Center de Cultura d'Elx L'Escorxador. The Welshman has participated in filming such as 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Abominable Dr. Phibes, Conan the Barbarian, The Fantastic Voyage of Sinbad, Clash of the Titans, or in the Spanish ones, open your eyes y talk to her. Likewise, he has worked with directors such as Ridley Scott in Alien, the eighth passenger and Steven Spielberg in the empire of the sun, as well as with geniuses like Kubrick, Lean, Peckinpah or Milius.

Arthur, who will attend the closing of the Festival on the 22nd, was also the architect of the creatures of The never ending story.

Fanta Elx 2014 is an initiative promoted by Elche filmmaker Fran Mateu. The Festival has the support of OFPROART (Office for the Promotion of Artists), and the collaboration of the Department of Culture of the Elche City Council, Mustang Art Gallery, Cafetico Films, Original Make Up, Blood Virus or 4xCuatro TodoTerrenoVisual, among others.
