Liberty Global could compete with Vodafone to buy Ono
After the purchase of the Dutch company Ziggo, Liberty has its eye on the Spanish cable operator in an operation that, according to Finantial Times, could reach 7,000 million euros.
According to the Economic newspaper, Finantial Times, the American giant Liberty Global would be willing to buy Ono for 7 billion euros.
The interest of the group owned by magnate John Malone in buying the Spanish cable operator was known shortly after it emerged that the English company Vodafone was in talks with Ono to enter its capital.
Finantial Time assures that both Liberty and Vodafone are in separate negotiations with the owners of Ono, which include Providence Equity Partners, Thomas H. Lee Partners and CCPM.
This supposed interest in Ono coincides with the announcement of Liberty's purchase of the Dutch operator Ziggo in an operation valued at 10 billion, confirming Malone's interest in Europe.
