Suddenly, his gaze meets that of the man of the moment, the brand new Minister of Foreign Affairs Ramón Serrano Súñer, Franco's brother-in-law. As a result of this relationship, a girl was born, Carmen Díez de Rivera, a figure of enormous importance 30 years later during the Transition. Although her father never legally recognized her, the scandal was such that he was removed from the Government forever and both families hid the matter as if it had never existed.
