Riedel Networks expands the reach of its European MPLS network through an agreement with Viatel
Viatel's advanced fiber optic backbone connects eight countries, 35 cities and more than 120 European data centers
Riedel Networks has closed an agreement with Viatel that will allow the update and expansion of its European MPLS network. Viatel provides high-capacity services to strategic point-of-presence (POP) locations across Europe. This agreement will allow the Riedel network to be extended to strategic enclaves such as Amsterdam.
Michael Martens, director of Riedel, highlighted that "Viatel is an important partner for the Riedel Networks network, and we are very pleased with the company's reliable performance in the delivery and operation of network services. It is very valuable to us that Viatel has the infrastructure and maintains full end-to-end control, which made our choice easy."
Riedel's network uses the Viatel infrastructure as the basis for the services it provides to its own customer base.
Viatel's advanced fiber optic backbone connects eight countries, 35 cities and more than 120 European data centers, with fiber in major data centers and Internet hubs. With data centers in Dublin, London, Amsterdam, Paris and Brussels, Viatel owns more than 8,500 kilometers of fiber network infrastructure, which has been equipped with high capacity with optical DWDM technology and multi-service platforms.
