RTVE redoubles its commitment to Spanish cinema in San Sebastián through a new agreement with producers
José Manuel Pérez Tornero, president of RTVE, has presented the keys to the proposed collaboration agreement reached by the Corporation and Spanish film producers within the framework of the 70th San Sebastian Festival.
At the presentation, held at the Kursaal and which was also attended by the Minister of Culture, Miquel Iceta, the president of RTVE He has assured that "RTVE is going to do everything it can for Spanish cinema": "RTVE's obligation is to leave freedom to cinema, to provide security, foundation, regularity... there has to be a community of spirit to dream together. One of the keys to this agreement is RTVE's “firm intention” to increase the next exercises are investment in the purchase of Spanish cinema antenna rights. In this forum, among other issues, the advancement of exploitation windows, compressing exploitation periods, segmenting them, redefining exploitation procedures, etc. would be addressed. Paralelamente, RTVE ha confirmado que trabajará en pro de aumentar los acuerdos y coproducciones con las televisiones públicas europeas y latinoamericanas; que realizará numerosos encuentros sectoriales sobre temas de interés, tanto en salas como en la propia RTVE, y que luchará activamente contra la piracy in the audiovisual sector.
