TVE made a hundred live connections on the day of the King's abdication
The network dedicated itself to a programming of almost 13 hours that included four special programs and the News News, with connection to thirty points of interest in Spain and around the world.
The important information display carried out by Spanish Television last Monday on the occasion of the abdication of King Juan Carlos included 101 live connections with thirty points of interest in Spain and around the world.
The public channel offered the testimony of around 60 personalities from different fields who expressed their opinion on this historic event.
In total, TVE dedicated nearly 13 hours of programming to reporting on this fact throughout the Newscasts and the four special programs that were aired from 10:30 in the morning, when the news broke, until midnight.
Throughout the morning and until 3 in the afternoon, the special hosted by Pilar García Muñiz and María Casado made 35 live connections with 16 different points of interest, among others, Palacio de la Moncloa, Palacio de la Zarzuela, Congress of Deputies, PP and PSOE headquarters, TVE correspondents in London, Paris, Rome, Rabat, Germany, Brussels, Moscow, El Salvador and also with other points of interest in Barcelona, Basque Country and La Rioja.
TD-1, with Pilar García Muñiz, made 14 live connections with 13 points of interest, among which the correspondents in Lisbon, Bogotá and Washington were added.
In the afternoon, the four-hour informative special hosted first by Ana Blanco and then by Sergio Martín, had 26 live connections with 18 places, including Berlin and the South American correspondent, and in Spain, with Palma de Mallorca and Asturias.
TD-2, with Ana Blanco and Marcos López, had 24 live connections with 13 points of interest, including Plaza de Cataluña in Barcelona and Puerta del Sol in Madrid. Finally, the special 'The King Abdicates' that closed the day, with Julio Somoano, also connected with Washington and Mexico.
The different specials collected the testimony of nearly 60 personalities from different fields (politics, journalism, culture) and included the participation of 28 guests on set.
In addition, TVE offered that day Juan Carlos I, my story, a documentary from TVE's Information Services that approaches the reign through the voice of the monarch and his son and successor, which included the testimony of 33 personalities.
