The Academy: 1,200 m² and more than 50 chambers

The Academy is located in a three-story building: the upper floor houses the 1,200 m² Academy and the lower 1,000 m² floors house the production and technical departments. A team of 150 people, distributed in shifts, is responsible for its operation.

Piano room (taking tones and rehearsals), large room (physical activities, choreography rehearsal, distribution of themes, artist visits), classroom (gala review, musical culture, image and personal protocol), teachers' room (teacher meetings, tutorials), study room, living room (chat), 4 boxes (rehearsals), outdoor room (relaxation) and dining room are the main rooms where the Academy's activity will take place.

Everything that happens can be followed through the more than 50 cameras installed, many of which are robotic. The works began on July 10 and, for its construction, 17 km of electrical cable, 8 km of video cable and 9 km of network cable were used to supply the electrical and communications installation.

The lighting is designed with LED devices capable of providing great brightness with low consumption and allowing the color temperature of the light to be changed. 40 screens, 200 fluorescence tubes, 30 RGB projectors, 15 fresnels and 4 more “robotic” ones have been installed.

The set

If the Academy will be the epicenter of the program during the week, the 1,300 m² set will receive nearly 600 people in the audience who will vibrate with the live performances. The project will have 10 cameras – among them, 2 wireless, 2 traveling and 2 on cranes. In addition, it has 540 m² of LED screens and state-of-the-art lighting with 240 robotics, 180 RGB LED projectors, 10 low-consumption LED cutouts, 20 5000w fresnels and 260 m of structure. It can reach up to 800,000 w of electrical consumption between light and screens.

After touring Barcelona, Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Palma de Mallorca, Valencia, Santiago de Compostela, Bilbao, Granada and Seville, the castings closed in Madrid in July, to which 9,833 people showed up. More than 80 candidates went to the final casting, of which 18 were selected to participate in the first gala. Of them, only 16 will be able to enter the Academy.
