Agencia EFE codes the World Cup with Estructure Media Systems
The main coding line of Estructure Media Systems is responsible for receiving all the content from Brazil, in addition to that of regular production at the agency's headquarters in Madrid.
The News Agency has recently updated its coding line, in order to offer all the news from the World Cup in Brazil.
EFE has prepared a special device to cover all the World Cup events, incorporating HD cameras to the ENG's sent to the country. In addition, journalist positions have been updated at the Rio de Janeiro headquarters, who contribute an average of thirty news items daily to the Spanish headquarters.
Among the different correspondents deployed to Brazil, an average of fifty news items are received at the headquarters, including raw materials and pieces edited in different languages (Spanish, Portuguese, Arabic, English...). The material is sent via FTP in high-quality H.264 format enriched with the Agency's own metadata.
At the Madrid headquarters, the main coding line of Estructure Media Systems is in charge of receiving all this content that is added to the agency's usual production from its headquarters in Madrid and the rest of Spain, reaching a total of more than 250 daily news items. The materials received are routed to the different formats with which the agency distributes its content to its clients (subscribers). Among the delivery formats, which include the possibility of watermarks and flies for thematic channels on YouTube, new contributions in high-quality .mov formats stand out.
