Overon carried out extensive coverage on June 18 and 19 on the occasion of the abdication of King Juan Carlos I and the proclamation of the new King Felipe VI. It launched an extensive operation for all the television channels that requested service from the different points of information interest in Madrid and Palma de Mallorca.
A team of more than 80 people, made up of producers, satellite, link and fiber technicians, camera operators, sound technicians and assistants, operated 30 DSNGs, 8 links and 10 fiber optic circuits, to provide service from the Congress of Deputies, the Royal Palace, the Plaza de Oriente, the Sabatini gardens, the Zarzuela Palace and different points of the route that the new King took from the Congress of Deputies to the Royal Palace. They also provided services from the Marivent Palace in Palma de Mallorca, and covered the demonstrations in favor of the Republic from Puerta del Sol and different points in Madrid and Barcelona.
Overon provided more than 160 live services, among which it is worth highlighting those provided to TVE, which retransmitted the signal throughout the world (Overon provided 15 DSNGs and the space segment for TVE's DSNGs), Antena 3TV, Telecinco, Cuatro, laSexta, FORTA, Canal Sur, TV3, ETB, Canal Extremadura, TV Castilla y León, 8TV, 13TV, Libertad Digital, as well as for Presidency of the Government of Spain. Among the foreign television stations were, among others: BBC, Al Jazeera, NHK, Televisa, CNN, the French M6 and BFMTV, as well as different channels from South America.
