The broadcast will reach all the fishing grounds of the Spanish fishing fleet and the 1,258 fishing vessels that fish in international waters.

Foreign Radio of SpainRTVE is broadcasting again on Short Wave to meet the requests of the fishing sector in international waters that did not have an alternative to receive the signal from Radio Exterior de España. The broadcast will reach all the fishing grounds of the Spanish fishing fleet and the 1,258 fishing vessels that fish in international waters. The Short Wave signal will be resumed in the shortest possible time and as soon as the technical conditions ensure its emission with all guarantees.

The broadcast will take place from Monday to Friday between 8:00 p.m. and midnight, Spanish peninsular time, and between 4:00 p.m. and 12:00 p.m., on weekends. In this way the spoken newspaper will be offered 24 Hours, space Sports Radio Gazette, the emblematic REE program for the maritime and fishing sector Spaniards at sea and the international news Five Continents. On weekends they will be broadcast Sports Board, with continuous news during 8 hours on Saturday and Sunday. These contents are the most requested by our sailors, missionaries and volunteers.

This coverage and programming offer ensures the reception of Radio Exterior de España throughout the African continent and Latin America, Central America and part of North America.

Areas will be covered such as the coast of Chile in the Pacific, where 2 boats fish for swordfish; They will also be able to tune in to the 5 cephalopods that fish in the Malvinas Islands in the American South Atlantic; the 58 that catch tuna and hake in Ethiopia, Madagascar and the Comoros and Seychelles Islands; or the area of ​​Gran Sol and the North Atlantic, which has not received a Short Wave signal for two years, and where 112 boats dedicated to anchovy and cod fishing operate.

With the Onda Corta broadcasting system that operated until last October 14, only certain fragments of its programming could be transmitted and at certain times (between three and six hours) to different parts of the world. For technical reasons and the propagation of electromagnetic waves, there has never been and will never be the possibility of listening to a complete 24-hour REE program through Short Wave at a fixed point on the planet.
