Wuaki intends to expand its activity to fifteen countries
Wuaki plans to expand its multi-device content distribution service to Portugal, Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, among others, in 2015.
Wuaki.tv, a company founded in Barcelona at the end of 2009 and since 2012 in the hands of the Japanese e-commerce giant Rakuten, has undertaken an ambitious expansion plan that aims to considerably increase its million and a half subscribers throughout 2015.
The platform, accessible on smart TVs, tablets, smartphones, game consoles, computers, and compatible with the Chromecast device, has a wide catalog that includes everything from Hollywood premieres to the best Spanish productions, as well as the great film classics.
Among other production companies, Wuaki has a contract with the majors Warner Bros, NBC Universal, Walt Disney, Paramount, Sony Pictures and 20th Century Fox. In addition, production companies such as HBO, Nickelodeon, Miramax, DeaPlaneta or Filmax have productions in their catalogue.
Wuaki.tv users can access content through purchase or rental, or can also subscribe to Wuaki Selection, which contains more than 5,000 titles.
In addition to Spain, Wuaki.tv operates in the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy. Now, thanks to the boost received through the operation with Rakuten, Wuaki plans to expand its activity to Portugal, Ireland, Austria, Belgium, Holland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark, among others, in 2015.
