Wuaki.tv closes the year with close to two million users
Users in Spain grew by 43.5% to reach 1,400,000. Content consumption through mobile phones increases almost 600%.
The movie and series streaming platform Wuaki.tv will close 2014 with 1,850,000 users globally, which represents an 85% increase compared to 2013 with an increase in revenue of 94% during this year.
In the Spanish market, users have grown by 44% to reach a figure close to 1.4 million. This positive trend has had a direct influence on billing indicators, since revenues have grown by 70% in Spain, the country where the company was founded in 2010 and from where the company's activity is directed in the markets it currently operates: United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy.

In reference to the devices used to view content, Smart TVs continue to be the favorite means of consuming entertainment, considering that practically 45% of the use made of the platform is through this type of support. 26% do so via mobile devices (smartphone or tablet) while 24% access Wuaki.tv through the web and 5% enjoy the service through consoles.
However, if the usage trend is analyzed compared to what it was in 2013, here consumption through tablet or mobile marks the most notable record since its use has grown by 590% compared to last year, a fact that demonstrates the emergence of this type of device as a support for enjoying entertainment content.
In the field of content, the company has doubled the number of titles in its subscription section during 2014, with almost 5,000 movies and series active on the platform. This figure rises to 8,000 if the titles available for rent and purchase are added.
Among this wide range of content, the spectacular numbers of Spanish cinema have stood out above all. And it is that Eight Basque Surnames has been crowned the most viewed film on Wuaki.tv during 2014, surpassing blockbusters of the caliber of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire y The Wolf of Wall Street, along with other Spanish productions such as The Great Spanish Family o The Witches of Zugarramurdi.
In addition to Spain, the United Kingdom, France, Germany and Italy, the streaming company plans to expand into eleven European countries during 2015.
