Structure at NAB 2015

Estructure Media Systems is presenting at NAB 2015 Kosmos, a comprehensive platform for digital news production.

Through a continuous workflow, the sharing of content between all users of the system is improved, significantly streamlining productivity.

The challenge is to cover all the processes involved in news production and improve the sharing of audiovisual materials thanks to centralized access to content.

Kosmos makes work easier by connecting all areas of a multimedia news newsroom. Journalists can navigate through a global content manager to select the materials they need, edit them, add voiceovers, texts, graphics... comfortably from a single application. For the post-production area, Kosmos integrates with Sony Vegas, a video editor that will help complement news production.

At the same time, the work of the documentation department is simplified by incorporating a simple tool that allows documenting, shot by shot, the contents, and can even unify cuts belonging to several videos in a single file.

Structure KosmosOnce the news is produced, it will be encoded into the corresponding formats depending on the destination of the news, either for broadcast quality or for dissemination through social networks and web content platforms. This is a completely transparent process for users who will only have to select the destination.

One of the most important links that we find in the workflow is the archiving of the contents to safeguard all the material in the long term and to be able to have it whenever necessary.

Kosmos has a robust archiving solution that guarantees access to all historical content quickly and accurately. Users can configure the archiving system on LTO-6 tapes or disks. Both technologies can coexist simultaneously, being able, for example, to configure disk storage for near-line and manage tape robotics for offline archiving.
