First production of a football match in Ultra High Definition and HDR at 50 fps

Recording will be carried out with 6 Sony F55 cameras, encoding the signal using the S-Gamut3 / S-log3 profile.

For the first time, a complete football match will be produced in Ultra High Definition and High Dynamic Range (HDR) at 50 frames per second. This experience will take place this Tuesday during the match between Juventus and Lazio in the final of the Coppa Italia.

Production will be carried out by Lega Serie A and Infront Italia, in collaboration with DBW Productions, based in Rome.

The match will be captured in two 4K versions. On the one hand, in Ultra High Definition with standard dynamic range. On the other hand, in 4K at high dynamic range and 50 fps, thus being able to compare the results between the two signals.

Because the HDR format is not yet standardized and in the absence of compatible televisions, the match will only be recorded without going on air.

The recording will be carried out with 6 Sony F55 cameras, encoding the signal using the S-Gamut3 / S-log3 profile, thus achieving a wider color space than the typical ICD-P3 (the largest currently in use), and thanks to HDR a curve that simulates the dynamics of cinematographic film will be achieved.
