Panasonic presents the first 4K PTZ camera aimed at the professional video sector
The AW-UE70 camera integrates standard functions such as IP control, audio input and power over Ethernet, functions that allow an innovative installation based on a single cable.
Panasonic has announced the launch starting in October of the first 4K PTZ camera aimed at the professional video sector. The new AW-UE70 offers a resolution of 3,840 x 2,160 at 25p over HDMI and is capable of 4K IP streaming and internal 4K recording. In addition to the 4K 2160/25p format, the camera supports a large number of international HD formats, such as 1080/50p, 1080/50i, 1080/25p, 1080/25PsF and 720/50p.
On the other hand, it integrates essential functions aimed at production such as synchronizer, optical image stabilization (OIS) and interchangeable remote neutral density filters. The camera also has a 3G-SDI interface and HDMI video output and incorporates a 1/2.3 type MOS sensor and advanced processing. It also integrates audio and video streaming capabilities directly from the camera at up to 2160/30p resolution, as well as internal audio and video recording capabilities to a microSD card at 2160/25p or 1080/50p.
Great flexibility
According to Jaume Miro, Product Manager of Panasonic's remote camera division, “4K/HD functionality and flexibility make this camera a good option for television broadcasts, as well as for demanding installations in stadiums, conference rooms, auditoriums and events, where ultra-high resolution video and precise control are required.”
Furthermore, according to Miró, "the camera integrates standard functions such as IP control, audio input and power over Ethernet, functions that allow an innovative installation based on a single cable. Likewise, operational flexibility is guaranteed with a USB webcam for video conferencing and collaboration environments, a 20x zoom lens, predefined functions and wide field of view (65.1°)."
The camera includes IP, RS-422 and RS-232C input and output interfaces, as well as a built-in web server that facilitates browser control and live preview over IP of up to 16 cameras, from PCs, Mac computers and mobile devices. Control via RS-422 serial or IP connections is achieved using the AW-RP50 and AW-RP120G controllers, the AK-HRP200G solution and the AW-HEA10 auxiliary control camera, all from Panasonic, as well as appropriately programmed systems from Crestron, AMX, Winnov and other manufacturers.
The UE70 offers a number of powerful features that expand the capabilities of professional video system users. In addition to the Dynamic Range Extension (DRS) function, Panasonic's advanced Digital Noise Reduction (DNR) and an ingenious High Dynamic Range (HDR) mode enable excellent images to be produced, even in extreme light and contrast conditions.
The UE70's night mode allows filming in near-dark conditions by automatically switching to high-quality monochrome HD video and offers the ability to use an infrared illuminator, making this camera the ideal solution for reality TV, sleep labs and scene support.
The UE70 incorporates a highly precise pan and tilt head (with a pan of ±175° and a tilt of –30° to 90°). This feature allows precise, fast and fluid movements in all directions to capture slow or fast moving objects without excessive vibration or bounce.
The AW-UE70 is available in black or white and will be available from October 2015.
