StoreData SAN MDC Suites include everything needed to deliver an integrated, certified file sharing solution for heterogeneous environments.

SM Data has presented two StoreData SAN MDC Suites to offer a fully integrated file sharing solution for heterogeneous environments, more economical than purchasing all the components separately and with the advantage of being certified by the manufacturers that make it up.

In addition to including all the basic components of a SAN, the StoreData SAN MDC Suites include as the main component a Metadata Controller server, the StoreData SAN MDC, based on Tiger Technology's Tiger Store file sharing software, which supports Windows, Linux and Mac SAN clients, allowing multiple users of these operating systems to easily and transparently share simultaneous access to common data files.

The StoreData SAN MDC is responsible for controlling simultaneous access to the file system of all SAN clients, in addition to maintaining the database that contains the metadata, being responsible for the perfect functioning and integrity of the entire storage network.

The two types of StoreData SAN MDC Suite presented include, in addition to the StoreData SAN MDC server, an 8 Gbit StoreData RAID Fiber Channel storage system with 12 3 TB SATA enterprise disks, an 8 Gbit Fiber Channel switch from QLogic and 3 SAN client licenses for Fiber Channel from Tiger Store software, the difference between both suites being that one includes 3 8 Gbit Fiber Channel host bus adapters from ATTO, while the other suite is designed for stations of client work with Thunderbolt connection, including 3 Desklink Thunderbolt 2 to 8 Gbit Fiber Channel devices from ATTO.

The acquisition of a StoreData SAN MDC Suite greatly simplifies installation, as all components have been tested in a real operating environment. SM Data and the different manufacturers that make up the suite certify that there are no interoperability problems between them and with optimal performance. In addition, SM Data offers one year of on-site support on the main SAN components, the StoreData SAN MDC server and the StoreData RAID system, expandable to 3 years at the time of purchase and with 1 year early replacement on the remaining components.
