Bandito Brothers invests in Avid shared storage
With the shared storage solution, powered by Avid's MediaCentral platform, the Los Angeles-based post-production company has achieved a more flexible and efficient workflow.
Bandito Brothers, a leading Los Angeles post-production company, has invested in a shared storage solution powered by MediaCentral's platform. Avid. Thanks to this installation, creative teams have achieved greater flexibility and efficiency in any type of project. Developed under the MediaCentral Avid platform, the system allows creative teams to collaborate efficiently, regardless of the editing application they use.
Bandito Brothers creates, produces, manages and distributes audiovisual content for clients such as Universal and Warner Bros., and brands such as Electronic Arts and BMW. Working primarily on films and spots, the company increasingly has work with numerous large formats and files, including 4K and 6K and RAW files.
Its creative teams use Avid's Media Composer software for non-linear editing and Pro Tools for digital audio, as well as Adobe Premiere Pro.
Share projects
The company has opted for the new Avid Isis 1000 shared storage system. This system “gives us the collaborative power we need to share projects across a wide range of tools and different positions, as well as to complete projects in less time,” highlighted Lance Holte, senior director of post-production at Bandito Brothers.
"The fact that it is agnostic software means that we can all use the right tools for the job, and we don't need to have several different servers with different projects and workflows. Media Composer is the industry standard and its editing capabilities in a collaborative environment are second to none. But for smaller projects, where issues like bin locking and collaboration are less essential, we use Premiere Pro," he adds.
Bandito Brothers professionals can access the Isis 1000 from any of the three buildings that the post-production company has in Los Angeles for image, audio and finishing post-production. Editors can access visual effects footage being prepared in another building, copy an AAF or OMF file, or open Pro Tools in their shared workspace, adding an extra layer of efficiency.
Kyle Kim-Hays, senior vice president and chief marketing officer at Avid, said: "Avid's new affordable, reliable, high-performance shared storage solution provides creative teams with the accelerated workflows and enhanced collaboration they need to take on any project. Delivering on the open spirit of Avid Everywhere, our storage systems now support a wide range of third-party video editing systems, giving companies like Bandito Brothers greater choice in how they deploy their streams. of creative work.”
