Gloway improves its HD mobile unit with a CALREC Summa console

The SUMMA console acquired by Telefónica has 128 channels, four main configurations, 32 tracks, an oscillator and infrastructure of Red Hydra2.

Telefónica Broadcast Services (Gloway) HD mobile unit has improved with a console Calrec Summa.

The Summa console is designed for broadcast professionals who need a simple solution for live audio production. It is designed to guarantee intuitive handling, simplifying complex tasks. It has a very intuitive graphical user interface through a 17-inch multi-touch screen.

Luis García Colombo, sound engineer in the mobile unit, highlights that "we produce events for the most important broadcasters in Spain, as well as for foreign companies. Today is a soccer match. Tomorrow will be a basketball match. Then we broadcast an opera. We have to be able to manage any configuration that our clients require and guarantee that their large productions will air without problems."

Telefónica mainly covers sports competitions. Thanks to the Calrec Soccer Sidekick iPad application, the work of monitoring audio in the stadium during a soccer match is simplified. The operator uses the app to help calculate the optimal mic/fader settings at any given time, making it possible to capture important events on the pitch.
