TVE begins the construction of his new studies 6 and 7 in Prado del Rey

The project, which has just placed the first stone, consists of two concrete prisms that will house the studies that will occupy 5,472 square meters.

The president of RTVE, José Antonio Sánchez, has placed this Thursday, July 14, the first stone of the new studies 6 and 7 of the production of Prado del Rey programs. The works will last for two years and the new buildings will have a built area of 7,000 square meters.

In the act, José Antonio Sánchez has indicated that the new studies "come to complement and improve the production capacity of RTVE significantly, both from the operational and technological point of view." "This project will allow RTVE to integrate production operations in the same center, Prado del Rey, thus favoring the possibility of producing synergies between the different programs," he said.

Once the construction of studies 6 and 7 is completed, and rehabilitated studies 1, 2 and 3, together with study 5, the corporation will have a total of six production studies, "all of them with modern equipment and state -of -the -art auxiliary facilities," said Sánchez.

"We are giving way to a new stage after the difficulties lived in recent years as a result of the appearance of asbestos in several of our studies. A new stage that gives us the opportunity to restructure our corporate headquarters, proceeding to a reorganization of studies and all our corporate buildings approaching a more sustainable and operational model, according to the new times," he concluded.

For his part, David Valcarce, director of media of TVE, has indicated that the fact of concentrating in Prado del Rey the majority of the production of Madrid programs will allow to enhance internal production and a more efficient use of resources.

The new studies

The new buildings will occupy 5,472 square meters, with a built area of 7,044 square meters. The project consists of two concrete prisms that will house the studies, in addition to a services building between the two that will complement the enclosure almost triangular. Study 6 will have similar characteristics to study 5 and 7 will be of a major dimension, as explained by the Director of Real Estate Infrastructure, Services and Operations of RTVE, Pedro Recas, in the act.

The construction of the two new studies was approved by the Board of Directors of RTVE on May 26, together with the demolition of studies 10 and 11, affected by asbestos and closed since 2011.
