Blackmagic improves its interesting SD card duplication system

Duplicator version 1.0.2 makes it easy to duplicate, distribute and sell UHD footage directly to consumers during shows. This update improves performance and compatibility with devices that play content in H.265 format.

Blackmagic Design has just released version 1.0.2 of its popular SD card duplication system, Duplicator. The new version can be downloaded for free from the Australian manufacturer's website.

With a compact size of just 1U, the new Blackmagic Duplicator 4K records content to fast and small common SD cards that are easily available at a reasonable price. One hour of UHD on an 8GB SD card

The efficiency of the encoder makes it possible to store one hour of UHD content on an 8 GB SD card. Para eventos de mayor envergadura, pueden utilizarse varias unidades en forma conjunta gracias a la salida derivada y controlarlas a través del protocolo RS-422. Esto brinda la posibilidad de codificar y duplicar contenidos en una cantidad ilimitada de tarjetas SD. Al iniciar o detener la grabación en la unidad principal, sucede lo mismo en los demás dispositivos conectados. Asimismo, el equipo dispone de un compartimiento que permite instalar un módulo para fibra óptica opcional, facilitando de esta manera el uso de cables de mayor longitud en superficies de grandes dimensiones. Esto resulta de suma utilidad cuando el dispositivo se sitúa cerca de los puestos de venta, alejado del área de producción, a fin de comercializar las tarjetas con mayor rapidez.
