RTVE focuses on the 64th edition of the San Sebastián Festival

From September 16 to 24, TVE participates with five films. 'La reconquista', by Jonás Trueba, is up for the Golden Shell.

RTVE, official sponsor of the San Sebastián International Film Festival, celebrates the 64th edition of the event from September 16 to 24. It will broadcast, once again, the opening and closing galas and the Donostia Awards, which this year go to Ethan Hawke and Sigoruney Weaver; films awarded in other editions; information, reports, interviews…

In addition, RTVE participates with five productions, one of them with an option for the Golden Shell, The reconquest; the preview of Spain in a day, by Isabel Coixet, and Winds of Havana, by Félix Viscarret; and the delivery of the TVE-Otra Mirada Award, which celebrates a decade of focusing on cinema close to the female world.

Film lovers and followers of the Festival will have in La 2 the best window to see the latest news of everything that happens in San Sebastián every day. The first appointment will be on Friday the 16th, at 9:00 p.m., with the live broadcast from the Kursaal of the Opening Gala; on Sunday the 18th, at 01:30, and on Friday the 23rd, at 00:15, presentations of the Donostia Prize to Ethan Hawke and Sigourney Weaver; and on Saturday the 24th, starting at 9:30 p.m., Closing Gala. Before, at 8:30 p.m., making of with the best of the edition. Canal Internacional and RTVE.es will also offer these galas.

Spanish Version will dedicate a special edition to the festival with the broadcast of one of the most successful films of recent years and winner of the Audience Award in 2014: wild tales, with Ricardo Darín, Darío Grandinetti and Leonardo Sbaraglia.

The Information Services will carry out special monitoring of the Festival in all editions of the Newscast with Carlos del Amor and José Fernández, who will also appear on Channel 24 Hours with a special program, every afternoon, at 7:00 p.m., with reports and protagonists. Likewise, the magazines will focus on the films and their protagonists led by Eva Hernández.

Esta amplia cobertura, tanto en televisión como en radio, contará durante todo el festival con el apoyo de los redactores y técnicos de la Unidad Informativa de RTVE en San Sebastián.

Cinco producciones de RTVE en esta edición

Cinco de las producciones españolas que participan en el 64º edición del festival cuentan con la participación de RTVE. Una de ellas, The reconquest, de Jonás Trueba, optará a la Concha de Oro. Además, en Proyecciones Especiales de la Sección Oficial, Manda huevos, de Diego Galán, coproducida por RTVE; en Perlas, Neruda; en el Velódromo, Kalebegia, la apuesta audiovisual más importante de la Fundación San Sebastián 2016 Capital Europea de la Cultura; y en Zinemira, el documental Chillida: Esku Huts, de Juan Barreno.

Estreno de Spain in a day

RTVE también estará presente con el preestreno, el jueves 22, de Spain in a day, la película dirigida por Isabel Coixet, producida por RTVE y Mediapro, que narra 24 horas en la vida de los españoles. La cinta, creada con 404 vídeos seleccionados entre los más de 22.600 grabados por los españoles el pasado 24 de octubre, cuenta con la banda sonora de Alberto Iglesias y cartel de Javier Mariscal.

X Premio TVE-Otra Mirada

TVE cumple una década entregando el premio TVE-Otra Mirada. Un galardón que distingue el cine cercano al mundo femenino y que se entregará durante la ceremonia de clausura. El jurado del premio está integrado por el director de Contenidos, Canales y Producción de Programas de TVE, Toni Sevilla, que lo preside, junto a Bárbara Goenaga, Clara Montero e Inma Shara.
