Medusa Estudio BCN installs a Neve Genesys G80 console

Medusa Estudio BCN has acquired a Neve Genesys G80 analog console, with a configuration of 40 faders, 80 inputs/outputs, 40 Neve Classic 1073 series preamplifiers, and 88R series EQs and Dynamics.

Medusa BCN Study you have installed an analog console Neve Genesys G80. The Barcelona studio has 400 m² facilities, which include two recording rooms of 90 and 20 m², a 50 m² control room, a 120 m² chill out room, a 6 m² machine room, and a 50 m² Red Studio, which is the personal recording and production studio of Manu Guix, founder along with Roger Rodés of Medusa Estudio BCN.

The different rooms and controls are interconnected with each other, allowing various recording possibilities, and it is even possible to treat all spaces as if it were one. From the main control room you can manage recording simultaneously in all rooms and spaces. The studio also has a CCTV system to visually communicate the recording rooms with the main control and with Red Studio.

The Genesys configuration installed in Medusa Estudio BCN has 40 mic/line input channels, 80 analog summing channels, 8 auxiliary buses (4 mono and 2 stereo), 8 groups, 2 main outputs, 4 effect returns, 5.1 multi-channel monitoring, large signal meters with two VU and dBu scales, 'Cue Mix', talkback functions, automation of motorized Faders and Total function Recall This configuration is the largest that has been installed in Spain, and one of the largest in Europe.

The Genesys console communicates with a Pro Tools HDX system through 4 Avid AD/DA converter units and an AX32 DAD unit, and with the wide range of outboard equipment through several Signex patch panel units.

A legendary sound

Neve Genesys is an analog modular console with digital control that offers the legendary Neve sound, incorporates control functions for DAW systems such as Pro Tools, Logic, Nuendo... and is available in configurations of 16, 24, 32, 40, 48 and 64 faders. Starting from the basic configuration of 16 faders, Genesys can be later expanded to any of the available configurations.

This console inherits the experience of more than 40 years of Neve technical excellence, the sound of the company's legendary preamplifiers and analog circuitry design. It also incorporates the same preamp circuitry as the “1073 Classic” unit. As optional configuration elements, Genesys has the EQ 1084 Classic, and the EQ and Dynamics of the Neve 88R console, both configurable in eight-channel modules and A/D D/A converters through MADI, AES and Firewire.
