The ESCAC Foundation annually allocates 11% of its budget to financing scholarships for the different studies offered at the School.

The Foundation CHESS of the Escola Superior de Cinema i Audiovisuals de Catalunya expands its scholarship program for the 2017/18 academic year to facilitate access to its studies for students who, with proven talent and limited resources, want to develop professionally in the field of cinema and audiovisuals.

As the main novelty this year, the fact that, in addition to the granting of ten full scholarships, is added the possibility of opting for ten half scholarships depending on the student's family income.

In this sense, the ESCAC Foundation annually allocates 11% of its budget to financing scholarships for the different studies offered at the School; and has the will to increase this budget in the following courses by up to 15%. According to the director of ESCAC, Sergi Casamitjana, “our objective is to create a scholarship system that allows us to have a broader social spectrum.”

Companies and institutions such as Fundación SGAE, Movistar, Cinesa, Warner Bross, Resa and Moritz have joined this scholarship program and offer scholarships to study at ESCAC through the agreements created with their Foundation.

The deadline to access the ESCAC Degree scholarships opens on April 24, when applicants will be able to present their applications via portfolio. Subsequently, a panel will interview the candidates and the applications will be resolved on June 2, 2017.

Twenty years after its inauguration, the ESCAC Foundation has successfully achieved one of its founding purposes: the search and empowerment of talent, and this is demonstrated by the careers of graduates of the stature of J.A. Bayona, Javier Ruiz Caldera, Mar Coll, Oscar Faura, Kike Maíllo, Nely Reguera, among many others.

The success of the ESCAC's mission has also materialized in the three Goya awards for best new direction in recent editions, the almost consecutive nominations for best editing, VFX and sound in recent years and the long list of Gaudí nominations and awards.
